Newburgh Brewing Company

The Stats

Location: Newburgh, NY

History: Newburgh Brewing Company prides itself off of honor. They claim that they work hard to make the natural goodness of their ingredients shine through in every taste. Deeprooted in history and staying true to the spirit of Newburgh, the taproom is a well preserved 19th century industrial building with high ceilings with a fantastic view of the Hudson.

Food Service: Yes, we enjoyed the Mac and Cheese and the Chicken Tenders. Both were relatively delicious considering we were at a place known for their beer.

The Scenario

We will absolutely say that when you first pull up, you may think you're about to enter the Twilight Zone. Parking is weird and the facade is even creepier. However, as you walk in you are immediately hit with stairs that you climb to their second story taproom. This place is a rustics dream. High ceilings with wooden beams and long wood tables, beer hall style. This allows for many big parties while also being private if you just want to sit by yourself. In the corner we saw that cornhole and darts were set up and the views of the Hudson River from the windows were gorgeous. We ended up posting up at table alone where our food and drinks were delivered to us via a number we stood at our location. They had a huge projection screen playing college basketball so Kyle was happy.

The Ratings

Roe's Orchard Ale

D: 3/5 - Interesting, cidery flavor. Didn't love it.

East Kolsch
K: 3/5 - A pretty decent Kolsch. Refreshing and hoppy.

Nanoboss IPA
K: 4/5 - Normally not a fan of IPAs but this session was fruity and bright. Real good.

Final Thoughts

D: 4/5 - I really liked the vibe of this place and the view of the Hudson River. The neighborhood was kinda sketch but the building was very cool. In my opinion, the beer and food were just OK. The tap room was huge and definitely a good place to hang with a group.

K: 4/5 - This place was great. Definitely the venue makes the brewery. That being said, the beer was pretty delicious as well. The food was just okay but I think that everything else made up for that. Such a cool vibe and a cool space that it's hard to say really bad things about it. Great spot.
