The Scenario

This was actually our second visit to Broken Bow. We visited for the first time before we officially started documenting our brewery adventures. Upon the announcement of their new sour, we need we needed to return. On a rainy Friday night, we entered into the dim brewery and went straight to the bar to order the sour. It was fairly empty for a Friday night but there were a few groups of business men and older folks gathering over some brews. The beer was good and we both had two each and took our time enjoying the night. There were different seating arrangements, from long beer hall tables to stools and leather chairs. They advertised an outdoor beer garden but we didn't get to enjoy it as the weather wasn't great.

The Ratings

Pithed Off & Sour Clementine Sour Ale
D: 3.5/5 - Good taste. Not too sour but a light tartness.

Kolsch
K: 4/5 - Maybe because it's Friday but this beer is really refreshing. Light and smooth.

Broken Routines IPA Series: Mosaic and Amarillo
K: 3/5 - A nice fruity IPA, pretty good!

Final Thoughts

D: 3/5 - It's a casual spot that I enjoyed more this second time around. I'm not sure if it's just because of them now having a sour on tap but I liked their beer much better this time than last. It's nothing special but it a good local spot to gather with friends. I am curious about their beer garden they advertised. It was too cold and rainy to explore this visit.

K: 2.5/5 - This is a place that is totally dependent on their beer. If you find a beer you like, then it's a great spot. If not, then it's probably not a place you'd want to come back to. The ambiance leaves you underwhelmed for sure. That being said, we enjoyed some great beers this time around and we might give this a third try down the road.
