Two Roads Brewing Company

The Stats

Location: Stratford, CT

History: Founded in 2012 by 4 friends. The brewery is housed in an old manufacturing building. The brewing company lives up to their name, "Two Roads isn’t just the logo on our brewery building, it’s our philosophy. Life always seems to offer up two ways to go. It just so happens, we prefer the one less taken and having some fun along the way – in our lives, our careers and especially for our beers! Now our 'road less traveled' philosophy is being brought to life in the beers that we create and how we create them."

Food Service: Yes, daily food trucks and some food is served inside during the week. A calendar of the food trucks can be found on their website.

The Scenario

The tasting room was packed and a wedding ceremony was taking place in a private room as we walked in. Despite a rainy Saturday, people came out in full force. That being said, we were greeted and served almost immediately. We brought a friend along and we could not even find a place to sit it was so busy. We posted up against the wall where there is a ledge to set our beers and as people got up, we stole their stools. Definitely a loud and lively crowd and the noise just echoes off of the walls in this place. The longer we stayed, the more the stools were hurting us. The stools are wooden and hard and not conducive to sitting for a long while.

The Ratings

Passonfruit Gose
D: 4/5 - Very good. Not too sour and a good flavor of passionfruit.
K: 4/5 - Real good. Not too sweet and not as sour as most gose

No Limits Hefeweizen
K: 5/5 - One of my favorite beers. The perfect hefeweizen

Workers Comp Saison
D: 4/5 - Good stuff
K: 4/5 - Really good saison

Honesyspot Road White IPA
K: 4/5 - Most of the time I am not a big fan of IPAs but this is an exception. Really good flavor.

Final Thoughts

D: 5/5 - This is definitely one of our favorite spots and we will continue to come back. The bar area is big enough that you'll always find a spot even on a crowded night. The stools didn't bother me as much but maybe it was because I was enjoying my passionfruit gose so much.

K: 5/5 - Really one of the best breweries in CT. A huge space with fantastic beer. It always attracts a loud and lively crowd but you are able to be served promptly. Prices are reasonable, food is available and the music is great. Up there for me in my top breweries ever.
